R = Risky sexual behaviours
Early and/or frequent exposure to sexually aggressive porn may:
  • Influence sexual expectations and behaviours
  • Increasing the likelihood of trying or feeling pressured to try risky sexual behaviours such as choking, rough sex, condomless sex, group sex, and rapid penetration.
  • Influence a lack of safety, concern, and affirmative consent relating to initiating and having rough or risky sex.

“I often see a lot of violence (in porn), like there is so much violent acts without the back story behind it, like looking after each other, caring for each other. And it’s suddenly like normalises abusive sexual relationships, or it just doesn’t create a safe environment, especially for young kids who are like actually trying out sex for the first time”
